Frequently asked questions
Getting started
What is Producer Apps?
Two apps that cover the two halves of client work. MixFlip is a before/after portfolio player that shows off your skill and wins the gig. MixSend delivers the finished work — one link with timestamped feedback, organized revisions, approvals, and paid downloads. One subscription, one studio brand.
Are MixFlip and MixSend separate products?
They're two apps under one Producer Apps subscription and one studio brand — MixSend delivers finished work, MixFlip wins the next client.
Can I use my own branding?
Yes — your studio branding flows into players and landing pages, and branding removal is available on higher plans.
Can I add my team?
Our pro plan includes multiple team members, so your studio staff can help you manage projects and clients.
Why is it a subscription?
The price covers hosting and serving your files on an ongoing basis, worldwide. After upload, files are replicated to SSD-backed servers around the globe via a top-tier CDN so they load fast wherever your clients are. If it helps you land even one more client a month, it more than pays for itself.

MixFlip — portfolio player
What is MixFlip?
An embeddable audio player that flips between two versions of a song in real time while staying perfectly in sync. It lets a listener hear your before and after instantly — the best way for mixing and mastering engineers to prove what they do.
Do I need to know how to code to embed a player?
No. Paste the embed snippet into any site builder's HTML/embed block — nothing to install and no code to write yourself.
Do I need a website to use MixFlip?
No. MixFlip includes a built-in landing page builder for a link-in-bio style page you can share with clients, so you can start without a site of your own.
Which site builders does it work with?
Any platform that lets you paste HTML — Squarespace, Wix, WordPress, and most others. You just drop in the embed code.
Do you re-encode my files?
No. What you upload is exactly what plays — no lossy transcoding, no surprise conversions. Your visitors hear the precise file you uploaded.
Why not just use a Spotify or SoundCloud embed?
Those can't show the transformation your work provides, and they re-compress your audio. MixFlip plays the exact files you upload — higher quality than streaming embeds — and puts the before/after front and center.
Is there a single-track player too?
Yes. Alongside the signature flip player there's a classic single-track player, included on every plan with unlimited players of either type. It supports larger files (up to 100MB) for showcasing full songs in lossless quality, matching the look of your flip players.
What file types can players use?
MP3, FLAC, and WAV on paid plans. To be kind to visitors on mobile we recommend MP3 or FLAC. See our docs on supported formats for the details.
How many songs should my portfolio have?
A focused set of 5–7 strong before/afters usually converts best; link out to streaming playlists for the full catalog.
Can I customize the before/after labels?
Yes — set the labels to whatever you want.
Can I re-sync the two files after uploading?
No. Because we serve exactly what you upload, the before/after files must be aligned in your DAW before upload. Our docs have a short guide on prepping your files.
MixSend — client delivery
Does my client need an account?
No. You send one link and they open it in the browser — no login, no app, no sign-up. They can play the mix, leave feedback, and download the finals without creating an account.
How do clients leave feedback?
They click right on the waveform to drop a timestamped comment, so every note is pinned to the exact moment in the track — no more “make the vocals pop more” with no idea where.
How do revisions work?
Upload a new version to the same link. The client always sees the current mix, past versions stay available for reference, and the URL never changes — no “Master_v2_FINAL_final.wav,” no confusion about which link is live.
How do I get paid?
Connect Stripe and gate the final deliverables behind payment. The client pays through the link, the files unlock, and payouts go straight to your Stripe account — so you stop chasing invoices after the work's already delivered.
Does Producer Apps take a cut of my payments?
No. Payments run through your own Stripe account, so the money goes to you — MixSend is a flat subscription, and standard Stripe processing fees are the only per-transaction cost.
Do you re-encode my files?
No. The files your client streams and downloads are exactly what you uploaded — no lossy preview transcoding, no conversions. Deliver the exact masters you intend to.
Can I limit what a client can do?
Yes — send restricted links for view-only or comment-only recipients, so a manager can hear the mix while only the paying client can approve it or download the masters.
